Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked homemade Moroccan bread. This bread is soft on the inside, lightly crispy on the outside and perfect to serve with tajine, soups or simply with some olive oil. Simple, comforting and always delicious.
Ingredients
400 g whole wheat flour
100 g fine semolina
100 g flour
8 g yeast
0,5 tbsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
50 ml olive oil
500 ml lukewarm water
Extra whole wheat flour for dusting
Instructions
Add the whole wheat flour, semolina, flour, yeast, salt and sugar to a large bowl. Make a well in the center and pour in the olive oil.
Gradually add the lukewarm water while mixing. Knead until you get a smooth and elastic dough.
Cover the dough and let it rise for up to 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 2 pieces (or 4 smaller ones if preferred).
Flatten each piece slightly and dust both sides with whole wheat flour.
Let the dough rest and rise for another 15 minutes.
Make small holes in the dough.
Bake the breads in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until fully cooked and lightly golden.
